ITRF2020: an augmented reference frame refining the modeling of nonlinear station motions

چکیده

Abstract To better describe the shape of constantly deforming Earth’s surface, ITRF2020 is provided as an augmented terrestrial reference frame that precisely models nonlinear station motions for both seasonal (annual and semi-annual) signals present in position time series Post-Seismic Deformation (PSD) sites impacted by major earthquakes. Reprocessed solutions form Earth Orientation Parameters using full observation history four space geodetic techniques (DORIS, GNSS, SLR VLBI) were used input data, spanning 28, 27, 38 41 years observations, respectively. The long-term origin follows linearly with Center Mass (CM) sensed SLR, based on observations collected over span 1993.0–2021.0. We evaluate accuracy evolution comparison to previous solutions, namely ITRF2014, ITRF2008 ITRF2005, be at level or than 5 mm 0.5 mm/yr, scale defined a rigorous weighted average selected VLBI sessions up 2013.75 weekly covering 1997.75–2021.0 span. For first ITRF history, agreement between 0.15 ppb (1 equator) epoch 2015.0, no drift. accommodate most users, coordinate variations are CM well Figure frames, together geocenter motion model. While PSD parametric determined fitting GNSS data only, they also fit three other colocated demonstrating their high performance describing site post-seismic trajectories.

Microplate motions in the hotspot reference frame

In this paper, we compute absolute motions that describe the motion of plates and microplates with respect to the mesosphere. In plate kinematic and dynamic analyses, two different absolute reference frames have been utilized: fixed-hotspots and meanlithosphere. The first, the hotspot reference frame , is based on the assumption that individual hotspots are fixed relative to the mesosphere and ...

Non-linear VLBI station motions and their impact on the celestial reference frame and Earth orientation parameters.

The increasing accuracy and growing time span of Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) observations allow the determination of seasonal signals in station positions which still remain unmodelled in conventional analysis approaches. In this study we focus on the impact of the neglected seasonal signals in the station displacement on the celestial reference frame and Earth orientation paramete...

An Augmented Frame Representation for Building Designs

We are developing an intelligent interface for the many design evaluation programs becoming available in architecture. As the central part of this project we have developed a model of buildings, capable of holding all the information needed to describe a building to a number of design tools commonly used by architects. The model also contains knowledge about components in a building and their i...

Modeling Visibility in 3D Space: a Qualitative Frame of Reference

This paper introduces and formalizes a frame of reference for projective relations in 3D space that can be used to model human visual perception. While in 2D space visibility information can be derived from the concept of collinearity (thus, as ternary relations), in 3D space it can be derived from coplanarity, which calls for quaternary relations. Yet, we can retain ternary relations by anchor...
